Hailing from Oberlin, Ohio USA, Jason Molina and his musical projects were some of the best and most consistent folk/alt-country of the late 1990s and 2000s. Molina carved a niche in the singer/songwriter genre with his initial group Songs: Ohia with such releases like Axxess & Ace and The Lioness, culminating to the groups final and most acclaimed foreshadowing release, The Magnolia Electric Co., the name and simultaneously/technically the debut album of Molina’s next project. Both bands and his solo material are highly regarded and influence quite a few singer/songwriters of the modern day.

Molina would unfortunately pass away early in life in 2013 at the age of 39.
